  • Age limit: Maximum 28 years for JRF (relaxable for up to 5 years for SC/ST/OBC/PWD and women candidates).
  • The age limit for Lecturer is 32 years (relaxable for SC/ST/OBC/PWD and women candidates).

      Exam pattern:

  • The exam consists of a single paper of 200 marks.
  • The exam is conducted in two parts, Part A (General Aptitude) and Part B (Subject-related multiple choice questions).
  • The duration of the exam is 3 hours.

      Syllabus:

  • Part A covers General Aptitude with questions on verbal ability, numerical ability, logical reasoning, graphical analysis, and analytical and communication skills.
  • Part B covers the subject-related syllabus, including inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, physical chemistry, biochemistry, mathematics, earth sciences, atmospheric sciences, oceanography, planetary sciences, and life sciences.
